As reported in an article preview by the American music media outlet Billboard on the 30th, 'Arirang' has clinched the top position on the 'Billboard 200' main album chart (dated April 4). With an entry of 641,000 album units, this represents the highest weekly performance for a group album since the unit tracking began in December 2014. Of the total, 532,000 units were from pure album sales, including both physical and digital purchases, marking a new high for weekly group album sales in over ten years.
In addition, BTS has taken the lead on global music platforms. Their album has dominated the weekly rankings on Spotify, a prominent audio and music streaming service (tracking from March 20-26). This includes leading spots on Spotify's 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists' global charts. Particularly, the title track 'SWIM' claimed the number one position on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global', and all 14 tracks from the album found places within the top 30 of these charts.
The track 'SWIM' maintained its leading position on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' for a span of 9 days (March 20-28) and 7 days (March 23-29), respectively. Furthermore, every track from the album continues to feature in the latest chart rankings on both platforms. Even ten days post-release, the album's entire tracklist, alongside the title song, continues to enjoy immense popularity, reflecting the global audience's deep appreciation.
Looking ahead, BTS is set to perform during the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'' at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on April 9, 11, and 12. In October, the group will extend their stadium concerts to South America, visiting Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. Notably, all 46 performances, including those in Goyang, North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, have been sold out far in advance, highlighting their remarkable ticket-selling power.
